What does it mean to design a hotel today? Beyond trends and sustainability requirements, new hospitality projects raise a deeper question: what kind of impact do we want hotels to have on people, their surroundings and society?

This roundtable, organised by MATCOAM, will bring together professionals from architecture, design and the hotel industry to explore how the way we conceive these spaces is changing. Hotels that are more closely connected to their context, capable of creating a sense of identity, giving new life to existing buildings and materials, integrating environmental criteria and offering experiences that go beyond consumption.

The conversation will explore architecture with purpose, materials and circularity, integration with the local context, wellbeing, identity and new ways of approaching the hotel experience. Because the new generation of hotels is not simply striving to be more sustainable: it aims to be meaningful, create connections and leave a positive impact.
