There are no precedents for building with stiffened textiles. This new technique developed by Paloma Cañizares proposes a new way of understanding the possibilities of materials and exploring new construction systems. After years of research, the Silk Pavilion was presented at the International Architecture and Design Festival of Logroño CONCENTRICO. This small, modular, light and dismountable construction that was moved to the Nuevos Ministerios gardens in Madrid at the request of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda opens a way to rethink the possibilities of building in a new way from simple elements. In this talk Paloma will explain this research process and its constructive and plastic possibilities.
