David González studied Architecture at the School of Architecture of the University of Valladolid. In 1997, he founded his own practice, dAAr Arquitectura, with the aim of delivering high-quality architectural services while providing clients with comprehensive support throughout the design and construction process. Over the past 20 years, the practice has grown steadily, working across a wide range of scales and project types from its offices in Madrid and Valladolid. Following the opening of the Madrid office, Lía Sainz joined the team to establish the Hospitality Department, driven by shared architectural ambitions and a common commitment to excellence, enriched by the collaborative nature of architectural design.
dAAr Arquitectura has developed projects throughout Spain across a broad spectrum of sectors, including urban planning, civil works, institutional, cultural, residential, and hospitality architecture. Our goal is to guide and coordinate a thoughtful, transparent, and rigorous design process, ensuring the successful delivery of every project—regardless of scale—while meeting its aesthetic, functional, economic, and technical requirements.
Over more than 20 years, the studio has evolved from small and medium-scale residential projects to large-scale interventions that showcase a clear identity: each project is approached as unique, with the same dedication as the first. Attention to detail, design, and integration with the surrounding environment have always been hallmarks of the firm. Over time, dAAr has expanded its scope of work, opening up to new typologies such as hotels, public facilities, and unique projects. This diversification has allowed for a deeper understanding of the concept of a comprehensive project, involving clients, users, builders, interior designers, external collaborators, and, above all, a cohesive internal team that gives meaning to the shared vision. Today, dAAr Arquitectura is a collaborative workspace that brings together more than 20 professionals highly committed to excellence: architects, building engineers, BIM managers, designers, 3D specialists, and interior designers. In addition, there is a network of collaborators —engineering firms, consultants, landscape architects, structural engineers and specialists in multiple disciplines— who share the same principles.
