Alberto trained as an architect at the Universidad Cardenal Herrera CEU, later completing his specialisation with the Master in Advanced Architectural Projects at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, where he began his teaching career lecturing in design studios. His professional trajectory has unfolded across some of the most respected practices in the international scene. In Madrid, he collaborated with Pesquera y Asociados and Resetland; in Barcelona, with B720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos. A drive to explore new horizons took him to New York, where he worked as an architect and designer at HWKN, and subsequently to London, where he joined two of the most globally recognised offices: Foster and Partners and Benoy. During his time in the city, he was invited to sit on the jury at the Architectural Association. Back in Madrid, he collaborated with Estudio Cano-Lasso on two coworking and office projects in London. A firm believer in the value of passing on knowledge, Alberto has taught at the Universidad Cardenal Herrera CEU and as an associate professor at the Laboratorio H of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de València. He has also been invited to deliver masterclasses at leading institutions including IED and Condé Nast, among others.
In 2017 he co-founded El Departamento alongside Marina Martín, a studio through which he has built a strong body of work in both commercial and residential architecture. Among his most notable projects are the retail spaces for PJ, Lobster, Nude Project and Pompeii, the concept stores for Bershka, and the expansion of Hoff across Spain and Europe — with the brand's flagship on Velázquez as the centrepiece of the project. His residential work spans València, Madrid and Ibiza.
