Paula Ojea (Nigrán, Pontevedra, 1983) holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of A Coruña and a master's degree from Imperial College London, supported by a 2009 Fundación Barrié de la Maza scholarship.

After seven years designing unique structures in New York and Barcelona, she founded OJEA STUDIO in Vigo in 2015. In her ceramics studio, she designs and makes stoneware and porcelain pieces that blend the functional with the artistic. Her work is used in avant-garde restaurants and has been exhibited in art galleries, the Museu del Disseny (Barcelona), and the Fundación Didac (Santiago de Compostela).

In 2017, she received the Artesanía de Galicia Eloy Gesto Grant, and in 2019, she won the Product Award at the National Craft Prize for her "Cut&Fold" collection, a series of porcelain and stoneware pieces featuring geometries that clearly demonstrate a fusion of engineering and ceramics in her work.

Ojea Studio is a contemporary ceramics Studio founded by ceramist and engineer Paula Ojea.

In the workshop located in Vigo (Galicia) porcelain and stoneware pieces are designed and handcrafted. The clean lines aesthetics and signature finishes are inspired by the colors, geometries, and textures characteristic of the natural and industrial landscape of the Atlantic coast of Galicia.

Combining design methodologies analogous to those of an engineering project with the characteristic warmth of traditional craftsmanship, Ojea Studio develops everything from custom tableware pieces that elevate the gastronomic experience to sculptural volumes designed to transform a space.

These are works with their own narrative that commit to the quality of materials, craftsmanship, and contemporary design as a way to provide value, character, and differentiation.
