Miguel Ángel García Belmonte is an industrial designer and founder of Pott Project. Born in 1974, he studied Technical Engineering and Industrial Design in Valencia. After completing his training and working at several design studios, he decided to settle in Totana, his adopted town, with the idea of channelling all his experience as a designer into it.
In 2013 he founded Pott Project with the intention of reinventing the craftsman's trade, turning his concerns into a project of his own in which every object is handmade, with dedication and care, combining traditional techniques with advanced processes to achieve a contemporary look.
His work starts from clay, from its limits and its possibilities, seeking for each object to preserve the honesty of the process that gives rise to it. Experimentation accompanies that search, rooted in respect for the craft and the knowledge of those who have worked with ceramics for generations.
Matter and light. Craft and trade. Past and present.
Founded in 2013 by Miguel Ángel García Belmonte, Pott Project was born in southeastern Spain, where pottery is part of the landscape and collective memory. From its workshop, the firm works ceramics with a contemporary outlook, exploring the dialogue between matter, craft and light.
Each luminaire emerges from the four essential elements: earth, the origin of the clay that shapes the piece; water, which molds and lends flexibility; air, which dries and prepares the material for transformation; and fire, which reveals its final texture and turns it into ceramic.
At Pott Project, design arises from respect for time and matter. It doesn't impose itself on the artisanal process but accompanies it, letting imperfection become identity. Each piece preserves the trace of the gesture that created it, a synthesis of precision and spontaneity, where technique and sensibility coexist, and true innovation stems from respect for matter itself.
