Founder and Creative Director of Nomad Hospitality Group, where she leads the creation of design-driven hotel concepts that combine aesthetics, sense of place, and purpose with an emotional connection to the guest. With more than 20 years of experience in hotel development, branding, and investment strategy, she brings a multidisciplinary vision that unites creativity with business rigor. Mónica holds a degree in Economics and specialized in real estate investment at Cornell University. She considers herself self-taught and a storyteller, with a deep aesthetic curiosity. Originally from Valencia, she spent most of her professional career in the Middle East, leading the development and expansion of hotels for major international hospitality groups such as Jumeirah Group, Nikki Beach, and Radisson. In 2019, she returned to Spain to build her own brand alongside her partner, Dieter Roelen, launching a new generation of “hospitality of the senses” under the Nomad Hotel Collection brand.
Collection of boutique hotels and tourist accommodations in the Valencian Community offering “hospitality of the senses,” focused on authenticity, soulful design, and connection with the environment. Based in Jávea, where they opened the region’s first sustainable hotel in 2020, they currently operate 6 properties along the Costa Blanca in privileged locations. Each has its own singular identity while maintaining a coherent philosophy and narrative. They champion a design approach that transcends appearance and becomes experience. Every project is created in close collaboration with local artisans, reviving traditional techniques and using native materials such as natural clay, wood, and lime mortar. This commitment not only preserves crafts that are part of Mediterranean identity but also gives each space an unrepeatable personality. In this way, every detail—whether a terracotta floor, a ceramic lamp, or a handwoven fabric—becomes a living story of the territory.
