Xavier Papiol grew up in a family that has worked in the rug sector since 1959, gaining an understanding of the craft from an early age. Following his experience in finance and startups, he took over from Kiko Cumellas at the helm of the brand in 2013.
Since then, he has shaped an approach to design rooted in craftsmanship and a deep understanding of materials. Under his leadership, Cumellas develops its own collections, collaborates with designers and expands its international presence, maintaining close relationships with artisans, architects and interior designers.
His vision brings together tradition and innovation, with craftsmanship and bespoke production as the starting point for creating pieces made to last.
