Guillem Villalta is an architect and founding partner of BIGA and ELIA, twoarchitecture practices based in Barcelona. He combines his professional practice withuniversity teaching in architectural design.
Throughout his career, he has developed and led projects of different scales andcontexts, both locally and internationally, ranging from residential buildings andpublic facilities to urban projects and large-scale developments.
At BIGA, his work focuses on architecture deeply rooted in its context, withparticular attention to identity, everyday life, and the ability of spaces to evolve andadapt over time. His approach seeks to combine a contemporary architectural visionwith a strong sensitivity to the surrounding environment, understanding architectureas a tool for creating new relationships between people, spaces, and their context.
Estudi BIGA is a Barcelona based architecture and design practice working across architecture, interior design and landscape.
The studio approaches each project through a strong sensitivity to context, combining contemporary design, materiality and technical rigour to create spaces with a clear identity and a lasting relationship with their surroundings.
Working from the scale of the territory to architectural detail, BIGA develops projects where architecture and interiors are conceived as part of the same experience, with particular attention to spatial quality, atmosphere, materials and the way spaces are lived and inhabited.
