Elena Hernández Cejas is an architect at Ruiz Larrea Arquitectura. She graduated in Architecture from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Her career at Ruiz Larrea Arquitectura has been closely linked to the rehabilitation project of the Hotel Palace in Madrid, where she has participated in the development of its different design stages, as well as in site supervision. This intervention includes the restructuring and refurbishment of the hotel’s 470 rooms, the restoration of the façade, the rehabilitation of the dome and skylights and, finally, the restructuring and refurbishment of its common areas. She combines her professional practice with research. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, within the Sustainability and Urban Regeneration programme.
