Maria is an architect and PhD in architecture, academic and researcher at Elisava, Faculty of Design and Engineering of Barcelona, UVic-UCC. Her research focuses on the psychological, cognitive and biological bases of the architectural experience, with the aim of contributing to the integral wellbeing of human beings by codifying their relationship with the built environment. He works from approaches such as evidence-based design, ergonomics and the principles of neuroarchitecture.She has developed several research projects, both public and private, participated in international conferences and has published relevant scientific articles. Currently, she is a researcher in the Decoding Well-Being line at Elisava Research, where she uses qualitative and quantitative methodologies to generate new knowledge. In addition, as an architect partner of Qualia Estudio, she is dedicated to transferring this knowledge to bridge the gap between science and project, innovating in the processes and patterns of architectural design focused on human well-being.

Elisava is a Faculty of Design and Engineering of the Universitat de Vic - Universitat Central de Catalunya, located in Barcelona. It offers Bachelor's, Master's, Postgraduate and specialised courses in design, engineering and communication.It has the research department Elisava Research, recognised as an Emerging Research Group by the Generalitat de Catalunya. One of its groups, Decoding Well-being, investigates the impact of the built environment on human well-being, studying the emotional, cognitive and physical responses linked to spaces, products and services. They use qualitative and quantitative methods, combining technologies from disciplines such as neuroscience, psychology and ergonomics. Their aim is to develop design projects focused on wellbeing and based on scientific evidence.
