Born in Padua, Italy, in 1973. As a child, he wanted to be a painter, but things didn’t quite work out, and he ended up studying architecture in Venice (1992–1997, IUAV).
At Fabrica (Benetton Group’s research center), where he joined as a scholarship recipient in 1998, he heard the word “design” for the first time.
On a Pacific island, wearing swim trunks and flip-flops in the summer of 2001, he and his friend Gerard founded lagranja Design. Since then, his professional life has been almost synonymous with that of lagranja.
From 2001 to 2011, Gabriele taught at various universities (IUAV, Istituto Europeo di Design, EINA–Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and gave lectures across three continents. From 2014 to 2016, he served as vice president of FAD, a private association and cultural institution promoting arts and design.
