Architecture and city. Two words that today resonate more strongly against an uncertain horizon marked by the climate emergency and social inequalities. This increasingly dystopian reality calls for utopias that envision better possible futures. How is, and how should, the construction of the present and the future be? How can we reduce the ecological footprint of buildings? Can architecture be a refuge? What must a space have to take care of us and make us happy?
Through literature and thought, we will discover conscious proposals that ground us. Projects that allow us to live simply, freely, self-sufficiently, and in harmony with nature and other species. Homes that respond to the need to preserve the planet and the core of our own existence. Ultimately, spaces filled with ethics and aesthetics where, as Henry David Thoreau said, we can live deliberately.
